Crackpot or Genius?: A Complete Guide to the Uncommon Art of Inventing by Francis D. Reynolds Chicago Review Press, 814 N. Franklin St., Chicago IL 60610 ISBN 1-55652-193-6 One of the best guides to inventions and inventing by an inventor with a background in corporate and private invention, consulting and teaching. As much a book on how to invent as it is on patenting, licensing, and so on. Has many examples of inventions and inventors, good and bad, valuable and silly.
The same inventor/author, with Ronald Weingartner, has a book entitled "The Toy And Game Inventor's Handbook: Everything You Need To Know To Pitch, License And Cash-In On Your Ideas". Again, we haven't read it, but if it's as good as the previous book it's worth looking at.
