A method is disclosed that enables the prediction of the equilibrium state of a structure upon which it force is applied by a fluid. In particular, the method is valid for cases where the force applied by the fluid causes a deformation in the structure so that the force on the structure changes as a result of the change in the flow pattern as a result of the structural deformation. The disclosed method is valid for cases where the flow exhibits shocks and separation of the flow and does not require an iteration between the flow and structures solution steps.
