Baden-Powell Council Refund Policy
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Several months before camp opens, extensive planning, pre-camp purchasing, and staff contractual agreements are carried out. Due to these types of commitments, it is not practical to give full refunds. All refunds will be assessed a minimum $25.00 for book-keeping expense. Refunds will be granted for the following cases only: (NO EXCEPTIONS). To avoid future problems, please, make sure the parents/guardians are aware of this policy.

  • Summer School - Documentation from the school must be provided with a written request, and MUST be submitted before the check-in day of the week the Scout would have attended camp.

  • Medical - Documentation from the Physician must be provided with the request in writing, and MUST be submitted before the check-in day of the week the Scout would have attended camp.

  • Death in the Family - A letter with the request in writing from the parent/guardian.

Non-qualifying refund requests: sports (of all kind), vacation, homesickness, failure to show, change of mind, travel events, etc.

Refund checks will be returned to the UNIT only. Checks will be issued after September 15th.

Camperships

A limited number of camperships will be available for In-Council scouts whose families demonstrate a need. Camperships may be awarded up to 50% of the camp fee for resident camping programs on a first-come, first-serve basis. This assistance is available council wide.

It is now the policy of the Baden-Powell Council that camperships, for those scouts whose respective unit did not participate in either popcorn sales or FOS at least once during the calendar year, will only be approved up to 25% of the resident camp fee. The remaining percentage of cost then becomes the responsibility of those encompassing supporters of the youth's expenses.

A confidential Campership Application must be submitted - the form will be distributed with the Leader's Guide, and is also available on the council website for duplication. Parents of scouts requesting camperships should be given a copy of the form to complete. It must come back to the designated troop leadership for their permission and submission to the council. The deadline, April 1st, 2007; must be met as funding is limited and camperships may not be available after this date.

Unit Payment Plan

1. First, complete IN FULL the Resident Camp Reservation Form and submit it ASAP - Reservations are accumulating fast- both camps are filling up, and space is limited. A non-refundable down-payment of $250.00 must accompany the reservation form. The down-payment will be subtracted from the final bill. Incomplete Reservation forms will not be accepted and will be returned to the unit until they are complete.

2. The second payment is due March 1st. $25.00 for each scout attending camp must be paid at this time.

3. The FINAL payment is due May 15th to qualify for the early bird discount. When this payment is made, be sure to submit the Troop Registration Form that accompanies the Leaders Guide.
