At left, painting from Tom Canfield collection. He writes, "When I got it here at home the glass was broken, but it didn't damage the painting. When I took the original old board off the back (fastened with square nails)...to get to the painting, it clearly had old script writing "76th NY" in pencil. Couldn't find a name though... The frame was definitely original with plaster decorations painted over. Its a real cool item to hang on the wall. The uniform looks very 76th NY also. When you look at the painting very close the face is really detailed... |
